Privacy Policy

The short version: Tabie doesn't collect, store, sell or share any of your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no Tabie servers. Everything Tabie knows about your tabs stays in your browser, on your computer.
This policy covers the Tabie browser extension ("Tabie", "the extension") and this website, tabie.web.app ("the website").
1. Data we collect
None. Tabie has no backend and never sends your tabs, history, bookmarks, downloads, previews, searches or settings to us or anyone working with us. We have no way to see who you are or how you use Tabie.
2. What stays on your device
To work, Tabie reads and saves some information locally in your browser. None of it is transmitted to us.

Uninstalling Tabie removes its extension storage. Shortcuts stay in your bookmarks until you delete them.
3. When information leaves your browser
Tabie only talks to third parties when you ask it to:
- Search suggestions. If what you type doesn't match any of your tabs, Tabie asks your chosen search engine (Google, Bing or DuckDuckGo; Google if ChatGPT or Gemini is your default) for suggestions, like your browser's address bar does. Only the typed text is sent, directly from your browser to that provider. Their privacy policy applies.
- Searching or asking AI. When you press Enter on a search, or choose "Ask Claude", "Ask ChatGPT" or "Ask Gemini", Tabie opens that site in a new tab with your text, just as if you'd typed it there yourself.
- Site icons. Favicons of websites are loaded from those websites (or from your browser's own icon cache) to show next to each tab.
Tabie never reads or changes the content of the pages you visit. The "all sites" permission is used only to take the preview screenshot of the tab you're looking at and to fetch search suggestions.

5. This website
tabie.web.app uses no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party fonts and no third-party scripts. It's hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which, like any web host, processes standard technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. 6. Children
Tabie collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
7. Selling or sharing data
We don't sell, rent, trade or share user data, and we don't use it for advertising or creditworthiness. There's nothing to sell: we never receive it.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. If Tabie ever needed to collect data, we'd ask for your consent first.
